Party Treats!

Little Confectionista has been baking up a storm lately, trying out new recipes and doing something new with tried and true favorites. Here's a look at what she's been up to in her kitchen:
a fun assortment of cookies, perfect for tea parties, birthdays, or any kind of girlie occasion! The lips, teapot, and crown use sparkling sugar accents. The strapless dress is accented with silver, and the regular dress is decorated with a paisley design pressed into the icing.

some delicious little pie pops with lemon cream and apple filling. Perfect when you want a bite of pie but don't want a whole piece!

some tasty two bite hazelnut brownies made with nutella. Delicious and petite!

Teal-rific!

This 3 tiered wedding cake incorporates a lot of different design elements--double wedding ring, cornelli lace, and tuxedo stripe patterns. The teal ribbon around each layer and around the bottom of the cake board really pull them all together and make for a very striking combination! The cake itself is iced in buttercream with silver dragees as the accent for the wedding ring and tuxedo designs. Very pretty indeed! Congrats Carly and Jake!

What's Hi in the Middle and Round on Both Ends?

OHIO! this cake was made for a groom who can't get enough of the Buckeyes. The bride wanted to make the cake extra special by having a design to match the stylish outfit Jim Tressel wears on the sidelines every Saturday--a logo sweater vest! The Confectionistas put together this version of an edible one iced in buttercream complete with the Ohio State logo made out of fondant.

Festive-Us!

These truffles really capture the colors of Christmas--red, green, and white sprinkles really pop against the red candy shell! The best part is, they have green-tinted cake on the inside, so you can really feel festive while enjoying one of these little goodies! they are another perfect treat for stocking stuffers, or just to celebrate your own Festivus for the Rest of Us party!

Time for Tea

The Confectionistas love to bake cookies! Little did we know the almond sugar cookies we are becoming famous for are called by another name around these parts--Tennessee Tea Cake Cookies. We Confectionistas think our cookies are tasty and fun, no matter what name they go by! These were whipped up for a local bride to send home with her out of town guests.

Blue Christmas

The perfect stocking stuffer for those who are on your "Nice" list is something sweet--and these little truffles are bite size fun anyone will love! They are cake mixed with icing inside, hand dipped in white chocolate tinted blue and decorated with royal icing. Pretty and tasty all in one neat tiny package!

Con-grad-ulations!

Graduation day is a big deal, and congratulations are always in order--in the form of cake! This cake was made for a friend of Little Confectionista's who has worked hard and earned her degree. She wanted to celebrate with a cake that looked like a graduation cap, so the Confectionistas did her one better and gussied it up a little! Congratulations Leslie!

Fits To a T

As a fan club president, it's important to make all your bases are covered when planning a Christmas party--venue, guest list, and of course, cake! This cake was designed to match the shirts that the Fans of Bart's Weekly Newsletter sport any time they feel like representing their favorite local go-to news source. The logo is hand cut from fondant and piped with buttercream icing. You could say this cake fits this party to a T!
