4th of July is just around the corner...can you believe it? And of course no celebration of our nation's independence is complete without a picnic, fireworks, and dessert! These festive cookies are a great way to solve the old "what am I going to bring to the get together" problem, and they hold up a lot better than potato salad!

Life's a Beach!
This past weekend was Little Confectionista's birthday--29 and holding (for the third time). What better way to celebrate than a luau complete with a hibiscus and seashell beach cake? The "sand" is graham cracker crumbs and the shells are made of fondant. The hibiscus (hibisci?) were hand made. Fun and best of all, tasty!

Zoom Zoom Zoom!
We Confectionistas love it when we get to try out new ideas! We had Father's Day bouquets in sports designs, but a friend of ours said her dad was a race fan...what could we come up with for that? Why, a green and checkered flag and tires of course! This bouquet is perfect for Dad, Brother, Grandpa, or Hubby!

Who's That Lady?
Momma Confectionista put together this whimsical little number--a sweet and cute ladybug cake perfect for a birthday at any age! It's iced in buttercream with fondant accents. Ladybugs are supposed to be good luck--I think the recepient of this cake is definitely lucky to get such an adorable treat!

Free At Last!
This time of year is all about graduations--Kindergarten all the way through college! Celebrate with a cake designed to match your school's colors and mascot, or cookies that taste as good as throwing your cap in the air feels.
this was a cake for a Bearden High School graduate--they are the bulldogs and their colors are grey and maroon!
These cookies were made for a college grad--personalizing them makes them even more special.

Is it a Cookie or a Cake?
The Confectionistas love the idea of "twofers"--getting twice the excitement in one fun little package--and that's exactly what these cookies are! They are wedding cake shaped and decorated with a hot pink and black theme for a friend's pending nuptials. The decorating possibilities are endless with these gorgeous little treats--any colors and any styles would work perfectly! They are perfect as favors for your reception or your bridal luncheon, or as a pretty little "something extra" at a bridal shower.
Father's Day 2010
For Father's Day this year, we decided to do something a little bit "sporty" and make these athletic cookies! Every dad is an athlete--whether it be a golf pro or an armchair quarterback! We did a golf club, golf ball, baseball and bat, and a football. It's a fun way to say Happy Father's Day without buying another boring shirt or tie!
