Angry Birds!

These birds are so angry but so edible! Little Confectionista created each of the six birds, plus a couple of the evil pigs for good measure. The cupcakes are red velvet with cream cheese icing and the birds are all fondant.

Pink and Green Sixteen

Lime green and pink are extremely popular colors these days, and the Confectionistas have made several cakes with this color scheme lately. Our most recent entry is a sweet 16 cake, complete with gerber daisies in hot pink on top and around the bottom. Cute and fun for a 16th birthday party!

Nobody puts baby in the corner...and nobody can resist these cupcakes! They are iced with buttercream and topped with fondant discs decorated with edible food color marker. So fun for a birthday party, bachelorette party, or movie night!

Minnie to the Max!

Mama Confectionista put together this adorable Minnie Mouse creation for a birthday party! The pink, black, and white theme is pulled together with the mouse ears atop the cake and the complementing cupcakes.

Something Old, Something New...

Mama Confectionista has been anxious to try a couple of cake techniques and this weekend she did that very thing!
This cake incorporates 'bubbles' made of gelatin that reall y make any cake more fun! It's something new and exciting that you don't see everyday.

The vintage look of this cake lends itself to the roaring 20's or old-fashioned wedding lace. it's so intricate and so elegant at the same time!

Fonda-rific Flowers!

The younger crowd has developed sophisticated taste these days, and these two cakes are no exception! they are for a 10 year old and an 8 year old's birthday, and they were very specific about their orders. One had to be heart shaped with flowers, another had to be hot pink with fondant. So the Confectionistas created something special for each! Happy birthday, Elizabeth and Autumn!

What A Drag

Turning 40 is a big milestone...and not always one you look forward to--unless you have an awesome cake to help you celebrate! This cake was made for a friend's husband who races for a living. It was designed to mimic the dragster he drives and The Confectionistas think it's a winner!

When your sweetie turns 60, you have to make it special, and what better way than a cake with something fun on it to show him you think he's still got it? This corset cake is the perfect way to say happy birthday with a little flair and sass!

Oh My Ganache!

Sometimes the only thing to make your day better is chocolate--and lots of it! This gorgeous cake certainly takes care of that hankering and then some. It's devil's food cake covered in semi-sweet chocolate ganache and topped with hand dipped chocolate covered strawberries. Indulgent, delicious, and satisfying to any chocoholic!

As a fan club president, it's important to make all your bases are covered when planning a Christmas party--venue, guest list, and of course, cake! This cake was designed to match the shirts that the Fans of Bart's Weekly Newsletter sport any time they feel like representing their favorite local go-to news source. The logo is hand cut from fondant and piped with buttercream icing. You could say this cake fits this party to a T!

Carp-e Diem

This scaly guy is one you won't have to throw back in the water! He's one small mouth bass that won't break your line--and the best part is, he's made of chocolate cake! Perfect for the fisherman in your life who deserves more than just your average birthday cake, or for the groom you've fallen for hook, line, and sinker.

Polka Party!

When you're 13 going on 30, not just any cake will do! A custom cake with polka dots of all colors and multi-color border and words is the only way to go. Little Confectionista created this gem for a friend's daughter using candy for some of the dots and buttercream for the others. The multi-color words and border were made by "striping" the bag with three different colors of icing. Perfect for a birthday party that's "spot on!"

30 Rock

When your good friend hit a milestone birthday, it's important to make them feel....OLD! ha ha. When that friend just happens to see the Metallica cake you made, and request a cake with his favorite band logo on it, you can't help but say yes. This one was fun to make--the eye logo is layered fondant and the "Tool" logo is fondant as well. Icing is buttercream. Little Confectionista wishes her buddy Chris a very happy 30th birthday! I hope the cake is as tasty as it is Tool-arific!

Pac Man Fever

When your friend Jess wants to have an 80's themed birthday party for her twins, and some of her fondest memories are of spending time at Pizza Hut playing the console version of everyone's favorite video games, what's the perfect dessert? Pac Man cupcakes of course! These tasty gems (3 dozen) were decorated with Pac Man, Ms. Pac Man, the ghosts (Pinky, Blinky, Inky, and Clyde) and of course all the food that gives you a bonus of 1 up or 2 up! And of course no 80's theme party would be complete without a personalized, neon decorated cupcake just for you! These were so much fun to make--I hope they're as much fun to eat!

When your groom is a big fan of metal (the music, not the alloy) what better way to celebrate your nuptials than a cake made with the logo of his favorite band? That's exactly what Little Confectionista made for her friend Robert, the rockin'-est groom ever! Congrats to the happy couple, have a Metal-tastic wedding day!
