Opposites Attract
Mama Confectionista did a stunning job on a wedding and groom's cake that were designed to complement each other with a black and white theme. The wedding cake is white buttercream with black fondant accents and the groom's cake is black chocolate buttercream with white fondant accents. What a cool way to show how opposites attract!

It's a Nice Day for a Cupcake Wedding
Cupcake weddings are gaining popularity, and they always make for a unique and interesting display! This weekend's wedding was no exception, with a giant cupcake stand and some vintage look cupcakes in orange dreamsicle with Italian meringue buttercream to go with it. The bride and groom also had a small 'cut cake' decorated with cobalt and apple green "buttons" to go with the vintage theme. Pretty and fun! Congrats Lori and Chad!

5 Tiered Elegance
The Confectionistas stayed busy this past weekend with some beautiful wedding creations! A 5 tier black and white wedding cake is adorned with several different techniques ranging from the simple to the ornate. The groom's cake is a replica of Turner Field, home of the Atlanta Braves! and to top it all off, the bride provided monogrammed cupcakes and cake shooters for a little variety. It was a pretty presentation with a lot of interesting elements!

A Different Take
Many times a wedding cake design incorporates ribbon into the theme, and this lovely gem Mama Confectionista made does too, but with a little twist. The ribbon goes around the top of the tiers instead of the bottom! It's a fun way to be traditional while still being a little more unique. This delicious white cake is frosted with cream cheese and filled with raspberry filling.

Teal-rific!
This 3 tiered wedding cake incorporates a lot of different design elements--double wedding ring, cornelli lace, and tuxedo stripe patterns. The teal ribbon around each layer and around the bottom of the cake board really pull them all together and make for a very striking combination! The cake itself is iced in buttercream with silver dragees as the accent for the wedding ring and tuxedo designs. Very pretty indeed! Congrats Carly and Jake!

What's Hi in the Middle and Round on Both Ends?
OHIO! this cake was made for a groom who can't get enough of the Buckeyes. The bride wanted to make the cake extra special by having a design to match the stylish outfit Jim Tressel wears on the sidelines every Saturday--a logo sweater vest! The Confectionistas put together this version of an edible one iced in buttercream complete with the Ohio State logo made out of fondant.

It's Wedding Season!
Hello Everyone!
The Confectionistas have been hard at work making tasty wedding creations for our friends! Here's a sample of some of the delicious offerings we've created recently:
This is a favorite of brides everywhere--square stacked layers with ribbon and silk flowers. The cake is iced in buttercream and has buttercream piping with non pareil silver beads.
This cake is a fun and whimsical version of your traditional 3 tiered round cake. It has feather plumes as part of the topper, and the ribbons around each layer. The scrollwork and icing is all done in buttercream. It also looks great in silver and black or hot pink and black!

White flowers and pearls always make an elegant presentation--this cake is iced in buttercream and accented with pearl nonpareils and fresh flowers. Gorgeous!
For brides who want something a little different and unique for their reception or luncheon, these little monogrammed cupcakes are adorable and delicious! The cupcake wrappers come in all different styles and make a very elegant presentation when styled on a tiered stand or grouped together on a table.
It's a little tough to see this cookie cake, but it's been a big hit for bridal favors as well. It's three sizes of sugar cookies iced with rolled buttercream and then stacked in a tier to resemble a wedding cake. It's a taste of heaven in a tiny package!Lest we forget the handsome groom--we've made all kinds of crazy groom cakes. This is your basic tuxedo iced with buttercream with fondant accents. Don't take too big of a slice, the black icing doesn't make your teeth look very pretty for your pictures! :)
Of course what would a Tennessee wedding be without a TN football cake? This is a birthday cake but several brides have inquired about doing a TN themed groom's cake. This a really spirited way to show your Volunteer pride and your love for your new husband! For all those Steel Magnolias fans out there, this is a "bleeding armadillo" cake. The inside is red velvet so that when you cut into the armadillo, he looks like he is bleeding. It's an interesting way to celebrate your special day just like Ouisa Boudreaux!
